My sneeze hole, (tis a bit ick)

All my life I have had trouble with my snoze. Ive always sneezed a lot, and frequently had hay fever.
After I gave birth to Zoey, my nose seemed to change a bit, and I was a lot
more boogery (yes that's TMI but you'll get a lot of that
in this post, so consider yourself
warned!)
I didn't think much of it and got on with life.
At the end of my pregnancy with Jack, I got nose bleeds, again I though
meh just pregnancy related. Couple of months later, bringing us to the start
of this year, My nose was whistling, so I blew, sniffed, rubbed, nothing
worked so I thought stuff it and tried to dig the snots out that were causing
it. Some snot moved and disappeared, at the same time I felt a poke in the
other side of my nose. WTF? so I digged in the other side same thing
happened. Well the boggers loose at least so I blew it out, then I stuck my
pinky back up to see what the hell was going on, (told ya it was ick!) only to
feel a great big gaping hole in my septum (the cartilage wall separating the
nostrils) It freaked me out in a major way... as it would.
So I saw a doctor about it, she didn't even look at gave me a referral to a
doctor 2 hours away.
I thought it a bit odd.
Anyway life happened time passed and I thought screw this surly someone
has to come to town.
So I went to a different doctor
~By now I had lost most ability to smell, I  couldn't breathe properly had
frequent nose bleeds and it constantly whistled~
This doctor I saw actually looked in my nose and figured that it was
something that I had had since birth, and I'm like no I would of noticed it a
long time ago, it only appeared earlier this year. He was very curious. I told
him about my not liking having to drive 2 hours with 2 kids to see a
specialist. He informed me that there's one that comes to town from
Sydney. So I got a referral to him.
After a long wait I finally got to see this doctor today. (albeit running over
half an hour late)
So I tell this doctor I have a hole in my septum, he grabbed a few tools
including what can only be described as a nose speculum (speculum's the
thing they use when peering inside a woman's bits)
And said yep easy fixed. rattled off a few things asked questions etc, then he
said ill be right back I just need to go get the camera.
He came back with an endoscope and sprayed some anesthetic in my nose.
OMG GROSS!
After it took effected he turned everything on and put the scope in my nose
and we watched on the screen at the end on the bed/chair/whatsy. It was
rather ewww but very cool at the same time. He explained what everything
was as he went through. (i got to see my voice box, that was awesome)
and he discovered that my nose was full of (in layman's terms)
allergy bumps which he said confirmed
what he thought had
happened. I had literally sneezed
and itched a hole in my nose!!
Crazy stuff eh!
So he explained the 2 ways that he can fix it, surgical and non surgical.
Surgical has a 50-70% chance of working. non surgical always works. And
its cheaper so we went for that option. He told me that he will put in
a silastic septal button that will be cut
to fit that will plug it up and
everything will be fine again.
For tonight he soaked some cotton in anesthetic and pulled it through the
hole. (it dripped onto my mouth an made my lips numb... much lols)
after a while he pulled it out and cauterised around the hole to stop any
more bleeding and crusting till he can put in the button.
Ive also got to have some blood tests, an antineutrophil cytoplasmic
antibodies (ANCA) blood test, a FBE - (full blood examination) & ESR -
(Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate), a DMA (yes M) antibodies test and a
hybrid antibodies test.
And I should have my cholesterol test done while I'm at it too LOL.
Hopefully ill have some blood left! Might have to have a juicy steak for tea
that night!
So it was a very fun filled afternoon. I shall post again tomorrow after I get
the button in. OMG LOL ill have a button nose hahahahaha
Here's some links about whats going on with me.
